I have been asked this question before and the answer that I had provided was:
Soul mate is the "other you" whom you spend the rest of your life trying to understand and love. You are able to complete each other's sentences and instinctively understand each other's feelings, even though you still argues and fights. This is the person you are or have been looking for in your whole life, and is definitely worth waiting for.
