Horoscope for Dating - Virgo

Virgo

Insights into Likes, Dislikes, Motivations and Desires

They key to romancing a Virgo is simple elegance -- take your date out for a tasteful, stylish evening. But don't be too spendy -- your Virgo will be embarrassed by splashy shows of money, and will be more impressed by value rather than amount. Also keep in mind that Virgo rules the house of health, so a date with physical activity (especially outdoors) will be a hit. Or, for a more alternative idea, go for a joint spa treatment. Virgos also love animals, so a date that puts your Virgo in contact with them (like a trip to the zoo!) will earn you a smile.

Suggestions for the perfect date

go rollerblading, go hiking, feed the ducks, go to the museum, play miniature golf, take a walk in a botanical garden, go wine tasting or go to a wine bar, go to an art exhibit opening, spend a night in a Bed and Breakfast, go horse-back riding, go for a simple but elegant meal, take a walking tour of your city

Any date that involves the arts, from painting together to attending the theater, will make your Pisces smile. Romance will be appreciated by this Sign, so try a beach picnic with wine and cheese or high-tea in a garden. Whatever you do, put a little magic into your date -- creating the right mood will romance your Pisces more than any money you spend.

Speed Dating Tips

CrispAds Blog Ads

I had attended numerous sessions of speed dating conducted by Singapore SDU (eg. Mega Dating, Speed dating over lunch/dinner, Horoscope speed dating, Speed dating by the sea...) Normally I get a match of 40% of the total guys available. Not bad hah?

I'll share with you some tips I learn from these experiences :

TIPS :

1. Which Speed Dating event to Choose?

Choose speed dating events that fit your character.

I prefer smaller settings where there are fewer pairs. I found that the best for me is within 10~15 pairs. Even though I still get about the same success rate in bigger settings, I find the quality of time that I had spent is not worth it. When the group is too big, I couldn't remember what the first guy had told me by the time I reach the mid of the event!

And when the group is smaller, most probably there'll be given more chat time per pair. Thus, you'll be able to get to know the other person better.

Remember, the rule of numbers does not apply here if you are seriously looking for a life partner!

But go for the bigger group if you just wanna have fun ;)

2. What to Wear?

For girls, the key in choosing your outfit is to dress attractively without dressing to attract. In other words, your goal is to meet a potential mate, not just attract attention, particularly from the wrong kind of person. A good rule of thumb is to look at yourself in the mirror before leaving and determine if any particular article of clothing or exposed body part could be distracting. If you pass this test, you'll know the people you meet will be able to focus on you, not your clothes or a body part.

Trust me, I did saw one lady who were scantily clad before in one of the events that I had attended. Guess what? When I went on dates later with the guys matched from that particular event, they comments the lady that had dressed too attractively was not their choice. What's the reason? Their reply is they do not want a flirt for a wife!!

3. What to Talk About?

I found that people normally talk about name, occupation, interests, blah blah like they are in interviews looking for jobs. What a bore! After a few encounters like this, I turned the situation around. I wrote down my particulars on a piece of paper and show each new partner at the beginning of the chat. Then I just chat on other stuffs that are more enjoyable (to both of us, of course). Trust me. It WORKS like magic!

4. How to Act?

Rule of the thumb : make yourself as comfortable as possible. If you are not, the other party most probably may sense it as well. People like to date others who have confidence and are comfortable of themselves. Don't try too much to impress. People will know when you are yourself, or when you are trying to impress ;)

5. How to get a second date? (Supposed to be a secret)

Even though we are not supposed to exchange details, but I have came across guys who hinted openly to me looking forward to next date. And sure this does help to add marks to him in the selection stage !

So here's all my trade secrets. Hope you'll try them out and see whether the tips help you in getting more successful matches...Wish You Luck!

Romantic Places in Singapore

I used to think that Singapore is too small for any romantic getaways till I spot the following :

1. Romantic Walks by the River

From it's mouth near the Merlion Park to Boat Quay. In the night, the bridges and buildings light up, exuding a different kind of beauty and you can enjoy the many beautiful sculptures and historical sites along the way. Add a slow stroll across Victorian bridges, especially the Anderson Bridge which is among the most romantic spots in Singapore.

2. Magical Merlion

Stroll down the Merlion Walk in Sentosa at night that lies right behind the Merlion tower This 120-metre-long Gaudi-inspired mosaic walkway is romantically lit up with thousands of tiny bulbs. Treat your olfactory lobes to the aromas exuding from over 50 types of spice and herb plants in the Spice and Scented Gardens flanking both sides of the Merlion Walk.

3. Seaside View from Top of Mount Faber

Why not take a Cable car from Mount Faber to Sentosa. Or you prefer to remain cuddled up together on secluded benches at the top of the Mount Faber while admiring the beautiful seaside view.

4. Cruise to Nowhere

Spend 2 days 1 night (especially during weekends) aboard cruise and enjoy yourselves without disturbances from daily activities.

5. Boating at Punggol Marina

Rent a boat and there you go off to another world of just you and your beau. No more worries of any relatives, friends or strangers around!

Speed Dating Encounters

Talking about Speed Dating, it came to my mind a few encounters that still makes me giggles whenever I think of it.

Encounter #1 :

That's my first speed dating event. Somewhere near the middle of the session, as the guy opposite me sat down, to my surprise, he is my colleague! It was not a surprise to him though...it was a HORROR to him! In fact, his face had gone all white. He was so scared that I'll tell the whole company that he attended a speed dating event, so he was all ready to bribe me. Whoosh, that's the time for me to make full use of the opportunity. So we made a pact in order to keep my mouth shut, he offered to help me with some of my work in the office, plus a big sumptuous meal!

Lesson learnt : Always try your best to spot a shy colleague at a speed dating event, it will worth your while!

Encounter #2 :

Once I went for a speed date at seaside. Everyone was to be seated on mats spread out by the sea. As the event went on, the tide also went higher and higher. By the time the speed dating event was done, we already had to shift our positions to higher levels a few times! Apart from that, the breeze was so strong that most of the time, our faces were covered by our own hairs. To add on to this, the facilitator had to keep coming to our sides to light up the torches that were blown out by the breeze. Wah liao, so unromantic! Since then, I never try any speed dating event by the seaside anymore.

Lesson learnt : If you still wish to try out this kind of event, my recommendation is make sure your hair is either too short for any wind to make a mess of it; or slap on tons of hair gel to make it stay on where it should be. On top of that, remember to bring a battery operated torchlight!

Encounter #3 :

Sometimes new age stuffs are not suitable for all people. In one of the event, the facilitator tried to create a relaxing ambience by placing essential oils at the center of each tables. One of the guys in front of me definitely never heard of essential oils. He was curious as to why is there some kind of smell that seems to originate from a little bowl with small through holes where a faintly visible small candle was... he tried to move away the tiny little plate on top of the bowl (just like the way he open up a lid) in order to see what's inside the bowl, without realising there was some transparent liquid on the plate. Gosh, all the essential oil on the plate spilt onto the table. His face turned all red at that moment! Subsequently, all the rest of my partners asked me about the wet table the moment they came to my table.

Lesson learnt : To those facilitator who wanted to place any kind of objects that is not supposed to be touched by participants, please kindly place a "DO NOT TOUCH" sign on it. This will save the participants any unwanted embarrassment.

Encounter #4 :

There was this one guy which the moment sat down by my table, straightaway he said "I have no condominium. No 5 digit salary. No car!" Later I understood from him that he was so fed up with the same questions other gals before me was asking him. And he was sure pissed off with such "pragmatic" questions posed by our own homely Singaporean gals!

Lesson learnt : Guys, save your breath. You just need to write those down on a piece of paper and show it to the girl once you sit by each table.

Encounter #5 :

Some people sure have very short term memory. Once I attended a follow up date with a guy from a speed dating event, which I will call Alex. He gave me such a bad impression on the date that I let him know straightaway I would never want to see him again. Yet 1 month later, we met again at another speed dating event. He was chatting happily with me like he never met me before and at the end he requested for a follow up date. When the speed date bell rings (time's up), I let him know I was the one he had dated 1 month earlier. His face turned immediately, which I assumed he remembered at that instance the unpleasant memory!

Lesson learnt : Always note down the name of people you had a bad dating experience. So that you will remember them and avoid crossing path with them again in (at least a near) future.

Encounter #6 :

I met two guys whom straightaway talking about bringing me to see their parents on next date during speed dating events. Woah, this sure scared me off a lot faster than other type of dating experiences.

Lesson learnt : Guys, even if you really think of bringing a gal home to your parents after the first meeting, please don't tell her directly. This will definitely send the gals running straight at the opposite direction.

There's still a few more interesting things that I'll share with you again next time. Do tell me if you have interesting happenings too. Remember, speed dating event is never a boring affair!

For a Start

Just to kickstart, I have listed out a few websites that I have been referencing to since I first start out my dating adventure. Happy browsing ;)

What is a Soul Mate?

I have been asked this question before and the answer that I had provided was:

Soul mate is the "other you" whom you spend the rest of your life trying to understand and love. You are able to complete each other's sentences and instinctively understand each other's feelings, even though you still argues and fights. This is the person you are or have been looking for in your whole life, and is definitely worth waiting for.

Do drop me a feedback if you have anything to add :)

Dating Doctor Genesis

DATING expert ? To be honest, I hold no paper qualification in dating but I do have tonnes of experiences in dating scene from first person viewpoints. Lot's of time, I would tell my best friends my dating escapees and we'll laugh off those funny encounters. And one day, one of my friends ask me "Why don't you share it in a Blog?"

Voila!

THE GENESIS :

One fateful day near the end of 2004, suddenly it dawn upon me that I will be reaching 30 years old soon. And yet, there is no sight of Mr Right appearing. Have my philosophy of "Waiting for my Prince Charming to appear on a white horse" gone awfully wrong? Or have the white horses on earth becoming so much less in quantity that my prince charming could not find one to ride to my side? NO... I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!! My head suddenly screamed out.

Since then, I have started to plot, train and test my new philosophy and goal.

My philosophy is to actively seek out and hunt for guys. Yes, I have turned into a hungry tigress. My goals is to date as much guys as possible so that my possibility of finding Mr Right increase exponentially.

Since then, I have attended lots of seminars, talks and training and read lots of books in the dating arena. And I always make sure I practise what I had learnt.

As a traditional lady, I'll never make the first move even if you are to kill me. But scared to be left unnoticed, I've mastered some really useful tricks that have been proven to work for me. For the past 2 years, I have been on dates average at 10 dates with different people per month, and with each date initiated by the opposite sex. And I don't go much beyond that number as I am limited by my own time and energy, not by the number of guys available. Trust me, at a certain point I do feel too tired to go out for any dates. But don't get the wrong idea. I don't go for pubs and casual sexs. I practice healthy dating with the purpose of finding a trustworthy and reliable future spouse.

So I hope by sharing my tips and encounters, I may help anyone who is willing to listen to me. Likewise, if you do have good tips or practices, you are welcome to share with me.

So happy reading and wish you luck!!
